Debunking Coronavirus myths

Andrew Chuma No Comments

Great short podcast summary of some of the coronavirus myths with Sanjay Gupta. In case there is an issue with the link, it’s a CNN daily podcast updating coronavirus topics. Less than 10 minutes each.

The only thing I disagree with is that this infection is man-made. Not in the sense that it was unleashed by some corrupt government agency or drug company, but it’s a result of how we raise, confine, transport and butcher animals to satiate peoples desire for animal products, whether it is to eat or use in some misguided medicinal compound. Every single outbreak we have experienced is the result of animal to human spread or contamination of vegetables from animal waste.

Shopping thoughts

In these times of uncertainty as to who may or may not be infected, I think that there are some important things to think about.

1) As much as fresh fruits and vegetables are the healthiest, it is prudent for now to buy frozen, or in bags or containers. It kills me to say that because of the increased plastic use but we need to try to limit spread of this virus. Swab down the bags/containers as well before using.

2) Use caned/jared supplies. Choose BPA-free cans if available.

3) Buy dried goods like beans in bulk. They keep forever and are a great source of nutrients.

Stay healthy. AC πŸ˜ŽβœŒοΈπŸŒ±β€πŸ–πŸƒπŸ»πŸ§˜πŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸŒŽ
