It’s sad that people would rather take a pill than make a lifestyle change. Unfortunately, medications fix numbers, not diseases. Long term complications are no different in patients on diabetic meds or blood pressure meds compared with those who are not. It’s our job to educate people about that. I read a study that 1/3rd of patients facing amputation would rather have the amputation than change their diet if would save the limb!!! Hard to combat such deep-rooted behaviors.
