Processed Meat Linked to Increase in Colorectal Cancer in People Under 50
The American Cancer Societyâs annual report found that the rate of colorectal cancer in people under 50 years old is on the rise, and processed meat may be to blame.1 A new study published in Nutrition and Cancer found that those under the age of 50 years who were diagnosed with colorectal cancer were more likely to consume higher amounts of processed meat and lower amounts of fruit and vegetables compared to those diagnosed over the age of 50 years.2
