Get your flu shot!
I just got off the phone with an ER physician, discussing an ENT patient, and I asked her about their census. They are at capacity with patients and, although they are seeing a significant increase in Covid cases, they are also seeing a lot of severe cases of the Flu.
Omicron is exploding, but this is not the only virus out there. It is imperative to get your flu vaccination also. There are outbreaks of the flu on school campuses and in many communities across the US.
You CAN get the flu shot at the same time as your Covid shot, be it the first, second or booster shot. Getting both together does not diminish the efficacy of either one in producing an immune response. Furthermore, the combined vaccination does not appear to increase side effects to any significant degree.
