Animal welfare groups are urging Americans to consider chickens after consuming 1.4 billion wings during Super Bowl LIV weekend. According to the National Chicken Council, this is an increase of 2% over last year and enough wings to circle the Earth three times.

When discussing nutrition with patients, they often say that they only eat chicken and fish. They are always starteled when I tell them that a chicken breast has as much cholesterol as red meat and barely less fat and that 40% of the calories from salmon come from saturated fat.

Our obeisity rate and national health will continue to be amongst the worst in the world if we continue to eat like this.
