The list below was partially pulled from an article from STAT News, a medical site which I have found very reliable. It’s a simple summary and I added some stuff at the end. In a nutshell, there are VERY few situations in which someone should not be getting the Covid vaccine.
“A Covid-19 vaccine rollout is underway across the U.S., but there are still questions about who ought to, and can, get the vaccine.:
Please do not assume that your reaction to something is an actual allergic reaction. There are different kinds of allergic reactions, with varying degrees of severity and significance. There are adverse reactions, which are not allergies at all. Please discuss your concerns with an allergist. Although most doctors should be able to clarify your reactions, I have found that there is a lot of misunderstanding, as well as medical liability induced “overcaution” (thank you malpractice lawyers), which can lead to people not getting vaccinated when they really should be.
Information I have read indicates that the first dose of the vaccine results in about 50% efficacy. The second dose, 3 weeks later, ramps up the efficacy to 95%.
GET THE VACCINE!
