10 second breath holding test and less effective hand sanitizer.
Someone asked me today about this test as a coronavirus screening tool.
I had not yet come accross this and looked it up.
Indeed, this is floating out there on the web.
This is NOT a good screening tool since it is too generic a symptom.
Just like loss of smell and tasdte, breathing difficultiers can opccur with any upper respirtatory infection, asthma or allergies.
Now, if you are having breathing issues, espetially with a fever and cough, get to a hopspital and get checked out.
Be careful when buying hand sanitizers. Although some claim to be effective against 99.9% of bacteria, this is not always the case.
Ultimately, the most effective sanitizer is one with at peast 60% alcohol. Substances like benzalkium chloride are effective for a lot of bugs but maybe not against corona. Better than nothing but alcohol the best. I know it has been hard to find. Look into some local distilleries which are starting to get into the business of sanitizer production. Some of the “organic” and plant-based sanitizers are good for routine stuff and I usually prefer these over alcohol ones, BUT not now.
Stay home.
If you must go out, practice social distancing (at least 3 feet and 6 better) and use a lot of hand washing and sanitizer if available.
Drink lots of water and eat your fruits and veggies. Remember that frozen is great if you have soime in your freezer. Frozen produce is usisally frozen at the source. These products lose very little interms of nutrient value so go through your freezer before considering going out.
Try to keep some semblance of a schedule at home and make sure to get some exercise, even if its just some pushups, situps or burpees in your appartment.
Stay well.
