We don’t need a new agency wasting tax payers money to look for a “cure for cancer”. We need a healthcare system which is a true “health care” system and not a “sick care” system. We need doctors who promote healthy living, focusing on healthy food, rather than prescribing more drugs and procedures.
Back in the early 70’s, President Nixon announced a “war on cancer”. At that time, cancer rates were 1 in 8 and the overall cure rate of those who needed chemotherapy was 27%. As of 2018, cancer rates are 1 in 3 (and that excludes skin) and the cure rate, despite all the expensive “advances”, is only 32%. Barely a blip.
We also need a public willing to work at their health rather than hope for a magic pill so they can keep doing what they are doing.
